Editorial policy
We write planning guidance, check sources and explain the limits of our tools.
Original writing
We research questions that hosts and contributors face, then write guides and examples for PotluckTime. We use archived sites and community discussions as research leads and preserve the distinction between a reader's question and an established fact.
Sources
We cite current FDA, USDA and Food Standards Agency guidance for food handling. We identify the jurisdiction when recommendations differ. Use the source for a decision that depends on local requirements or current advice.
Recipe and performance claims
We document preparation and results before calling a recipe tested. We publish traffic, ranking or savings figures after measuring them. Our planning tools estimate quantities from your inputs; they do not establish a dish's safety or suitability for a guest.
Corrections
We check the source before changing a safety statement and update the article date when we revise its guidance.
